PTL! my marker has dropped significantly from 108.7 to 43.3
it’s still slightly higher than the healthy level of 34.1, but with such a drastic drop, i cant be more than happy and thankful for God’s blessings, protection and love!
i have something wonderful to share this week!
blogging has become a lifestyle for many of us.
personally, blogging has become a habit for me. it is a channel for me to log my memories- the good, the bad, the happy ones, the sad ones, the fun, the silly, the blessings, the challenges.
sadly, blogs have also become a source for some to publicize their frustrations, maybe unknowingly.. i’m not too sure..
i yahoo-ed about “blogging” and learnt that there are blogging etiquette just like a government who wants order in her country.
here’s a summary of etiquettes we should observe:
- never forget that your words can impact someone- both positively and negatively.
- anyone could read your blog or comments at any time. if you wouldnt say the thoughts out loud in front of people, you probably shouldnt be writing them down for the world to see.
with this, i’m reminded that the bible says that we should be careful with the words we use:
pro 10:31
the godly person gives wise advice, but the tongue that deceives will be cut off.
pro 13:3
those who control their tongue will have a long life; a quick retort can ruin everything.
pro 15:4
gentle words bring life and health; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.
pro 17:20
the crooked heart will not prosper; the twisted tongue tumbles into trouble.
pro 18:21
those who love to talk will experience the consequences, for the tongue can kill or nourish life.
pro 25:23
as surely as a wind from the north brings rain, so a gossiping tongue causes anger!
phil 2:11
and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
jas 1:26
if you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are just fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless.
jas 3:5
so also, the tongue is a small thing, but what enormous damage it can do. a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire.
jas 3:6
and the tongue is a flame of fire. it is full of wickedness that can ruin your whole life. it can turn the entire course of your life into a blazing flame of destruction, for it is set on fire by hell itself.
jas 3:8
but no one can tame the tongue. it is an uncontrollable evil, full of deadly poison.
1 pet 3:10
for the scriptures say, “if you want a happy life and good days, keep your tongue from speaking evil, and keep your lips from telling lies.
peeps, are you reading this?
you sure can blog all you want.. but know that with every ugly action, comes with it the ugly consequence..
went ah chew yesterday with doreen, jasper, karen, bee and sab. doesnt doreen’s dessert on the left look yummy?
one of us ordered red dates with hasima. we know from our moms that hasima is some sort of nutritious food, but none of know what exactly what it is. so we asked the staff and here’s what hasima about..
thankful for a great chill-out yesterday and i do have a balanced life! =)
one new year’s day, in the tournament of roses parade, a beautiful float suddenly sputtered and quit. it was out of gas. the whole parade was held up until someone could get a can of gas. the amusing thing was this float represented the ’standard oil company’. with its vast oil resources, its truck was out of gas.often, christians neglect their spiritual maintenance, and though they are “clothed with power” (luke 24:49), find themselves out of gas (our faith).

in a seminary missions class, herbert jackson told how, as a new missionary, he was assigned a car that would not start without a push. after pondering his problem, he devised a plan. he went to the school near his home, got permission to take some children out of class, and had them push his car off. as he made his rounds, he would either park on a hill or leave the engine running. he used this ingenious procedure for two years.
ill health forced the jackson family to leave, and a new missionary came to that station. when jackson proudly began to explain his arrangement for getting the car started, the new man began looking under the hood. before the explanation was complete, the new missionary interrupted, “why, dr. jackson, i believe the only trouble is this loose cable.” he gave the cable a twist, stepped into the car, pushed the switch, and to jackson’s astonishment, the engine roared to life. for two years needless trouble had become routine. the power was there all the time. only a loose connection kept jackson from putting that power to work.
eph 1:19-20 (paraphrased): “how tremendous is the power available to us who believe in God.”
when we make firm our connection with God, his life and power flow through us.

a man who bought a new computer. bringing his new prize home, he carefully opened the box, gingerly took the machine out, studied its manual, and connected the wires. eagerly he flipped on the power switch- but nothing happened. puzzled, the man switched the computer off and rechecked all the connections. he rounded up a screwdriver and fastened the wires more securely. he read again the relevant portion of the manual. Satisfied that he’d followed directions, he flipped the computer on- and again nothing happened. as his anger rose the man’s little girl walked into the room.
“hi, daddy!” her cheery voice rang out. “what a pretty computer! can i plug it in?”
how’s your power source? are you plugged in?
1. stop making excuses.
10 most used excuses:
- i forgot.
- no one told me to go ahead.
- i didn’t think it was that important.
- wait until the boss comes back and ask him.
- i didn’t know you were in a hurry for it.
- that’s the way we’ve always done it.
- that’s not in my department.
- how was i to know this was different?
- i’m waiting for an O.K.
- that’s his job–not mine.
some unusual explanations for accidents from its automobile policyholders:
- an invisible car came out of nowhere, struck my car, and vanished.
- the other car collided with mine without warning me of its intention.
- i had been driving my car for 40 years when i fell asleep at the wheel and had the accident.
- as i reached an intersection, a hedge sprang up, obscuring my vision.
- i pulled away from the side of the road, glanced at my mother-in-law, and headed over the embankment.
- the pedestrian had no idea which direction to go, so i ran over him.
- the telephone pole was approaching fast. t attempted to swerve out of its path when it struck my front end.
- the guy was all over the road. i had to swerve a number of times before i hit him.
- the indirect cause of this accident was a little guy in a small car with a big mouth.
2. start immediately.
we often fail to consider the gradual, cumulative effect of sin in our lives. in saint louis in 1984, an unemployed cleaning woman noticed a few bees buzzing around the attic of her home. since there were only a few, she made no effort to deal with them. over the summer the bees continued to fly in and out the attic vent while the woman remained unconcerned, unaware of the growing city of bees. the whole attic became a hive, and the ceiling of the second-floor bedroom finally caved in under the weight of hundreds of pounds of honey and thousands of angry bees. while the woman escaped serious injury, she was unable to repair the damage of her accumulated neglect.
3. focus on the gain and not the pain.
the story is told about the baptism of king aengus by st. patrick in the middle of the fifth century. sometime during the rite, st. patrick leaned on his sharp-pointed staff and inadvertently stabbed the king’s foot. after the baptism was over, st. patrick looked down at all the blood, realized what he had done, and begged the king’s forgiveness. “why did you suffer this pain in silence?”, the saint wanted to know. the king replied, “i thought it was part of the ritual.”
4. depend on God to help you!
sign seen in a textile mill, “when your thread becomes tangled, call the foreman.” a young woman was new on the job. her thread became tangled and she thought, “i’ll just straighten this out myself.” she tried, but the situation only worsened. finally she called the foreman. “i did the best I could,” she said. “no you didn’t. to do the best, you should have called me.”
